A native of this area, Mr. LaFon grew up in Allen, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science in zoology with a minor in chemistry from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Previously, he has worked in medical sales for various companies. Additionally, he was a volunteer fireman and was a national registered emergency medical technician. He received a Master of Science degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan, one of the oldest Physician Assistant programs in the country. He has worked for Dr. Charles Cook since 2000.

Richard Penn, COF / Pedorthist has been affiliated with PFA (Prescription Footwear Association) and BOC (Board for Orthotist Certification) since 1991. He has owned and operated his own comfort shoe and foot orthotic company for over 10 years. He is certified to fit all body braces but has chosen to specialize specifically in foot and ankle orthotics.

Richard has had the privilege to work with many athletes including triathletes and marathon runners over the years as well as designing and manufacturing foot orthotics for professional athletes. He is currently a valued member of the Center for Foot and Ankle Restoration and works to restore health and function through the use of both off the shelf and custom orthotics. Often times, orthotics fittings can be accomplished during the office visit thereby maximizing speed of recovery and convenience for the patient.
